President
Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management
are delighted to welcome you to the 2nd Asia Pacific Virtual Events Conference 2021 (AVEC2). It is a real pleasure partnering with the Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management (APIEM) again this year and being part of this meaningful event for educationists and practitioners in the field of events management.
It is also a wonderful pleasure to have the opportunity to co-host the second virtual event conference in
collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). This public-private partnership is a good effort to
increase the contributions to the events management academic discipline.
The organization of the first AVEC was extremely successful with the participation of 1200 delegates from 40 companies and institutions from over 19 countries such as Australia, England, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Latvia, Taiwan, United Kingdom, India, and others. With the success of
the 1 st AVEC held in 2020, Taylor’s University believes that virtual events conferences have become a
new platform for researchers around the world to share ideas and further enhance collaborations in the field of events. This conference will be useful for the future of the event industry and will provide a valuable experience for both participants and organizers of AVEC 2021.
Furthermore, I also wish to take this opportunity to highlight Taylor’s University’s continuous commitment to reinforce connections between the industry, academics, and students. It is an honor to see the progress of AVEC 2021, and the strengthened relationship established between SHTE, APIEM, and UiTM. Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to APIEM, especially to the President, Professor David Hind for inviting our team, comprising of academics and Bachelor’s Degree students from the Events Management program, to be part of AVEC 2021. I sincerely appreciate your unwavering support and contributions, in one way or another, to the success of AVEC 2021. Wishing everyone an enjoyable and memorable participation at the conference!

Greetings Scholars!
On behalf of the 2nd Asia Pacific Virtual Events Conference 2021 committee, we warmly welcome you to Malaysia – virtually!
We are honoured to serve as co-chairs for this year’s Asia Pacific Virtual Events Conference (AVEC2). We are excited for the calibre of workshops, inspirational keynote speakers, and networking opportunities, all designed to support your academic and professional goals while enhancing your personal development in the events/MICE industry.
As one of the pioneer event educators’ conferences, AVEC2 brings together more than 100 educators, researchers, practitioners and students globally to share and learn knowledge and understanding of the current events/MICE industry. We believe this year AVEC2 experiences will expand your network, enhance your research knowledge and introduce you to best and current practices in the events/MICE industry.
To put a conference of this magnitude together is not a small task. We know that the conference’s success depends ultimately on the many people who have worked tirelessly in planning and organizing both the technical program and supporting the conference arrangements. To that end, we want to thank Professor David Hind (APIEM) for providing wisdom and guidance and Associate Professor Dr Norol Hamiza (Program Chair) for her tireless efforts to organize this event. Recognition should also go to the organizing committee from the Faculty of Business Management (UiTM), Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management (UiTM), Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation (UiTM) and Faculty of Social Sciences & Leisure Management (Taylors University), who have all worked extremely hard for the details of important aspects of the AVEC2 programs and activities.
