THE 1st ASIA PACIFIC SUMMIT FOR EVENT LEADERS

October 23-25, 2024

Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia

THE 1ST ASIA PACIFIC
SUMMIT FOR EVENT LEADERS

Summit Aims

Over the last 20 years special events and business events have developed as growing economic and social sectors throughout Asia Pacific. All nations in Asia Pacific encourage their events industries to prosper and grow. It is a very challenging and competitive industry post Covid-19. The landscape for staging events has been transformed by digital technology; destinations throughout the region compete against each other for the hosting of international events; national and regional governments are keen to increase their share of the income generated from these industries; and higher education institutions are designing a variety of programs to prepare graduates for employment as event professionals.

Within this complex business environment, the 1st Asia Pacific Summit for Event Leaders will provide a forum to:

  • Enable delegates to network and establish academic, industry and governmental collaborations of mutual interest and benefit. For example, international capacity-building projects, international cultural exchanges, international research programs, and faculty and student mobility schemes.

Share and discuss contemporary issues facing and shaping the future of the events industries in Asia Pacific.

  • Enhance the curriculum of events management study programs so that they continue to reflect current and future industry trends.
  • Explore how Kuching, Sarawak, has implemented strategies to position itself as one of the leading business and special events destinations in S.E. Asia.
