Whatever your ultimate career as an events/MICE management professional studying for an APIEM Academy event course will give you the knowledge and understanding to implement international standards of best practice within the events/MICE industry into your daily work activities.
STUDY FOR AN APIEM ACADEMY INTERNATIONAL COURSE
The APIEM Academy event courses are for events/MICE professionals who wish to gain a knowledge and understanding of how to design, plan, manage or teach events to an international standard. The courses are designed to enhance the ability of events/MICE professionals to function effectively within public and private sectors of the global events/MICE industry. You study as a self-directed independent learner, at your own pace, from the comfort of your home, anywhere in the world
Our courses have been designed by the United Kingdom Event Industry Academy and are aligned to the United Kingdom National Occupation Standards for the Events Industry.
Three types of course are available:
The APIEM Academy Introductory Courses
The APIEM Academy introductory courses are for scholars who wish to gain a knowledge and understanding of creative event design, event planning, or event management. These courses are offered through 100% online video presentations and are not assessed. A certificate of completion is awarded when all the online video presentations have been studied.
The APIEM Academy Professional Certificate Courses
These courses are for scholars who wish to gain an APIEM Professional Certificate to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the international standards required for creative event design, event planning, or event management.
The APIEM Professional Certificate courses require you to:
Complete all of the 100% online learning resources that are provided for each course
Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the subject content of each course by completing the 100% online assessments for the course you are studying
There is no written or oral assessment for the APIEM Professional Certificate courses ā they are 100% online study and 100% online assessed programs.
Upon successful completion of the assessment you will receive an APIEM Professional Certificate for the course you have completed.
The APIEM Certified Event Courses
These courses are for scholars who wish to be accredited by APIEM for their competence to work to an international standard in the events/MICE industry as a creative event designer, event planner or event manager.
The APIEM Certified Event courses are competency based and require you to:
Complete all of the 100% online learning resources that are provided for each course
Participate in virtual progress review meetings with an APIEM Event Educator
Complete and submit a written competency-based assignment for the course you are studying
After submitting your written assignment to have an oral assessment with an APIEM Event Educator that will demonstrate your ability to work at an international standard in the events/MICE industry
Upon successful completion of the assessment for your course you will be awarded an APIEM Certificate of Accreditation.
APIEM Certified Event Educator
To become an APIEM Certified Event Educator you first of all enrol and study for the APIEM Certified Event Planner course; then secondly, you enrol and study for the APIEM Certified Event Manager course. The final step in the process is to complete a written and oral assessment that demonstrates your ability to teach events management to an international standard.
APIEM Certified Tourism Educator
To become an APIEM Certified Tourism Educator you complete a Self Reflective Narrative Document through which you provide evidence of your ability to teach travel and tourism subjects to an international standard. You also require a reference from your line manager and you will have a discussion with an APIEM Certified Educator to discuss how you would teach specific topics within the tourism subject discipline.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
Applicants to the courses will be:
Events/MICE planners, organisers or managers who wish to gain a knowledge and understanding of creating, planning or managing events to an international standard
Events/MICE faculty tutors who teach events/MICE courses at universities, polytechnics or colleges and who wish to gain an international qualification to certify their teaching of events to an international standard
Students who are graduating from a university, polytechnic or college and who as part of their degree program have studied events/MICE management
People with relevant business or work experience who wish to embark on a career in the events/MICE industry and require a practical program of learning that leads to an international certificate in events management
